The good folks over at Yours Truly put together a great video of Thao (of with The Get Down Stay Down fame) performed for a small group in Lexington, KY. "Know Better Learn Faster" has been a cog in my musical rotation over the last month. Thao's voice is both subtle and impassioned at various points. However, their latest video for " Ready, Able " might be just the temptation I need to get back on the wagon. Small Black has already produced one of my favorite songs of the fall in " Despicable Dogs " . On 11/23 they will continue their successful fall with the release of that single backed with new song, "Kings of Animals" and adorned with quite possibly the greatest album cover ever (above). El Perro Del Mar - which of course is Spanish for The Perro Del Mar - is the solo project of Swedish songstress Sarah Assbring. I haven't had much time to get into her latest release, Love Is Not Pop , but the song "Change of Heart" immediately jumped out to me. Like fellow Gothenburg natives, Air France , El Perro has a knack for making wistfully beautiful songs that sort of lull you into a more vulnerable world, where love rules supreme. News of Yeasayer's long awaited sophomore LP, Odd Blood , has been bouncing around the internet for a few days now. "Ambling Alp" offers us our first taste of the album. I definitely recall this track from their performance at the P4K festival, but can't seem to remember if this was the one they hailed as the "summer jam of 2010". It certainly has that potential.
