London dubstep producer SBTRKT is getting a lot of love from the blogosphere for his particular brand of smooth pop-influenced club bangers, and 'Atomic Peace' is no exception. Though it was recorded in 2009, SBTRKT only released it a few days ago, and it's got a a fresh edge that makes 'Atomic Peace' sound like it was mixed last week. Watch this space for more from SBTRKT - 2012 looks set to be his year.

Swedish sisters First Aid Kit have dropped their new record 'The Lion's Roar' this week, and it's a delight for these wintry January days. The title track stands out as something of a change for the girls; louder and far more rousing vocals create a sense of deep passion symbolic of the lion's incredible roar. Definitely an LP to treasure, 'The Lion's Roar' is available now. First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar Download audio file (01%20-%20First%20Aid%20Kit%20 -%20The%20Lions%20Roar.mp3)

![[Exclusive] Absofacto – Lies](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4008440_lg.jpg)
Jonathan Visger , the sole and incredible talent behind Absofacto , does not just create sound. Absofacto creates experiences that extend beyond the electronic and into an uncautiously experimental world that is deeply rooted with genuine emotion. His latest release, 'Lies' is a beautiful, soft, borderline-playful-yet-dark delicacy of sparkly xylophone notes and longing vocals. While the instrumentation is electronic in nature, containing electric guitar riffs, keyboard and filtered groovy basslines, the entire process comes across very organic. Absofacto has the ability to induce emotion with his music in a way many fail, and quite truly that is what great [...]
![[dubstep] Krewella – Killin It [FREE DOWNLOAD]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4008036_lg.jpg)
They guys of Krewella , based out of Chicago, have one simple mission: "Making you wet.... One song at a time". 'Killin it' the group's latest release is an incredibly sensual masterpiece, with gorgeous vocals and a growling bassline that if listened at the right volume, just might make some parts of your body tingle. It is explosive, aggressive and most importantly not overbearing. Krewella strikes a perfect balance between vocals and frequency-stretched basslines making 'Killin it' a track dynamic enough to call it a favorite. Krewella - Killin It [...]

S.O.P.A isn't dead... yet "Aren't SOPA and PIPA already dead? No. Both acts still have substantial congressional backing and financial support from the MPAA, RIAA, and other supporters. ![[Electro] Die Antwoord – I Fink U Freeky](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4008169_lg.jpg)
Unpredictable South Africans Die Antwoord are building up the hype for their soon-to-be-dropped sophomore record 'Ten$ion', and their latest offering is the ravey 'I Fink U Freeky'. A disturbing and intense pile-up of beats drives this dirty dance track, as well as Yo-Landi Vi$$er's repeated line 'I think you're freaky and I like you a lot'. Not for the faint-hearted, 'I Fink U Freeky' is insanely addictive. This track features on Die Antwoord's 'Ten$ion', available February 7.
![[Folk/Indie] Daughter – Demo’s EP](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4007166_lg.jpg)
After seeing Daughter play in St. Giles in the Fields Church, London [ watch here ] - yep I was there - I was definitely blown away by how Elana's vocals lived up to the expectations set by the Wild Youth EP . After spending some time in the countryside, Daughter has now released some demo tracks to give you a glimpse of what's to come. Expect to see a a new release from Daughter in Feb/March time as the fruits of their labour come into a EP package, in the meantime -enjoy. [...]
![Californication: Season 5 Episode 3 Songs [Soundtrack TV Show]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4006146_lg.jpg)
Californication Season 5 Episode 3 was all about experiencing new things (well, for Charlie it was more about experiencing his right hand). *SPOILER ALERT* We finally got to experience seeing Hank getting closer to Kali, as their continues flirtations lead to some minor POW-chiki-wawoo (I am just quoting the notes they actually played as they hooked up). "Boys & Girls" had many funny moments, incredibly creepy (mainly with Charlie) and it actually ending with an emotional ending as the song "Pull You Through" by John Taylor played the episode out. Bellow I have included most of the [...]
![[Electro House] Moguai – Mpire](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4004988_lg.jpg)
Hopefully you're all feeling okay after last night's debauchery. If you're not up to par yet, go grab some greasy food, a gatorade, a few advils, then sit down to listen to this track. This gem just came out three days ago, and it's courtesy of Moguai . The German producer, who is known for his remixes of ambient tracks from the likes of Royksopp , has really created something with a huge feel to it. Mpire is a perfect blend of ethereal high-pitch notes, gritty guitar-like chords, and glitchy breakdowns which are sure to shred [...]
![[Epic Collab] Skrillex & The Doors – Breakin’ A Sweat (Zedd Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4004930_lg.jpg)
I'm super stoked to see Skrillex and Zedd at Pacha Nightclub here in NYC on February 1st. No doubt it will be an EPIC show! While each of these cutting edge young artists stand on their own in their respective genres, when they come together for a track the sky is the limit. This time Zedd took the oddball vocals, gnarly bass swells and brilliant arpeggio melodies of the original collaboration with The Doors and molded it somehow into his signature progressive electro sound. This track just makes you move in a subconscious, primal way. Come [...]
Christopher Mercer, aka Rusko, will FINALLY be dropping the long awaited single "Somebody To Love", bringing us a hilarious music video leading up to its release. They say Dubstep is just a fad; that the Wompiddy Womp won't last long, yet is hard to assimilate to these statements when great producers like Rusko are still bangin'. "Somebody To Love" will be available for purchase on january 23 (UK)/ 24 (US).
![[Free Download] XV & Wiz Khalifa – Gobstopper (Figure Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4004806_lg.jpg)
XV, born Donavan Johnson, first gained major attention after the release of his twelfth mixtape Everybody's Nobody in 2009. Obsessed with comic books, action figures, web surfing, and roleplaying video games, he does not always fit the stereotype of hip/hop which is why he stands out above the rest. Packing an amazing flow and a thoughtful lyricism, he has now become one of the most popular upcoming rappers in the US, not to mention an extensive list of collaborations with Pusha T, J. Cole, Kid Cudi, Chiddy Bang, and Wiz Khalifa, among others. Dubstep producer Figure , to which [...]
![[Remixes] Adrian Lux – Teenage Crime (Stereotronique Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4004474_lg.jpg)
Yet another young producer to keep on your radar this year is Adrian Lux from Stockholm, Sweden. He will be debuting his music at this year's SXSW festival in Austin if you happen to be around the way. Otherwise check out his tunes on the web and see why Sebastian Ingrosso and Pete Tong are supporters of his music. Never satisfied, we found a sick new remix of Adrian Lux's track "Teenage Crime" by Canadian broken beat electro producers Stereotronique . They took Lux's moody vocals and driving beat into new territory and added their heavy hitting [...]

![[Electro House] Aylen – The Remixtape](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4003477_lg.jpg)
Two days before 2011 came to an end, we posted a quick track by Jersey producer Aylen . Little did we know that less than a month later he was going to drop his Remixtape which is just filled with filthy, banging, electro beats. The album has a collaberations with Xristo and Illegal , but is mostly made up of Aylen's personal work. Below are a few of our favorite tracks. We don't want to bore you with details about the music, because we can pretty much sum it up in one sentence. [...]
![[Folk] The Oh Hello’s – Hello My Old Heart](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4003395_lg.jpg)
There are people that can completely ignore the lyrics of the song, and others that read too much into it. I have always been the type of person that appreciates melody over lyrics, musical structure over poetry and rhythm over words. Yet every time I find myself in need of music to help me get through things in life, lyrics are always capable to speak directly to the heart. "Hello My Old Heart" from the debut self-titled EP of sister/Brother duo The Oh Hello's does just that in the most profound of ways. The soft and carefully strum [...]

Not many remixes are able to outshine the original but with some luck, soul searching and a lot of talent, Flosstradamus teaches us that anything is possible. Turning 'Original Don' into a solid trap tune, the chicago based duo produce a track dynamic enough to have you repeatedly listen for hours, each time discovering something new. Original Don was a nice banger of 2011 and Flosstradamus might just make this remix one of the best of 2012. Major Lazer - Original Don (FLOSSTRADAMUS REMIX) Download audio file (Major [...]
![[Soundtrack] Syndicate Theme (Flux Pavilion Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4003060_lg.jpg)
Back in October, we told you about Electronic Arts attempt to incorporate modern EDM music into their new Max-Payne-Fear-Doom like first person shooter, Syndicate. Skrillex was brought in to create a unique remix of the theme for the trailer of the game and quite honestly we loved the track more than some of his other originals. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see no one other than Flux Pavilion create his own rendition of the theme that caters to his slow but aggressive dubstep style. A mysterious start turns into a big electronic anthem with big filtered strings, [...]

I'll be honest. I had never heard Of Azad Right . But one verse into his newly released Better Days and it made me re-appreciate underground hip-hop, proving once again mainstream is for the chumps. "I ain't religious, so they say I got no faith, but I believe in myself, so it's okay," could possibly be my favorite lyric so far in 2012. The rest of the track doesn't fade away, making a statement that this LA-based rapper might be on his way to much bigger and better things. If you live in Los Angeles or nearby, [...]
