Our eternal blog-bro, GorillavsBear , posted this track and it absolutely blew my shit away this morning as I awoke from a hazy, sleepful coma. This is the title track from the English trio, London Grammar , off their upcoming Wasting My Young Years LP. Enjoy the piano-led "Wasting My Young Years" and then head over to GvB to check out some previous tracks.

Certainly one of the better songs I've heard this year. A slow-burner from Pussy Wizard , the solo project of Toro Y Moi guitarist, Jordan Blackmon. "Dunno (Translucent Blue)" strolls along slowly but surely, the listener is drawn into Blackmon's docile but expressive vocals. This track comes off a 73 split with Pandercakes via Fork and Spoon Records -the label partially run by Blackmon which has released many Columbia, SC artists. Puzzy Wizard - Dunno (Translucent Blue)

The last time John Barrett and Company released a record, I made the claim it was "one of the most important rock n roll records of the past few years." At the time I was writing for another website and my editor said the statement was overreaching and too heavy-handed-I still disagree. Maybe I'm a shit-writer, maybe I speak in superlatives, but I still believe that record to be incredibly important. The sounds squealing from Barrett's guitar and the howls flowing from his mouth certainly helped to change the musical landscape from the time of the record's it's release until now. [...]

The band's new self-titled album is out in just a few days via Fat Possum, and continues the band stunning soundscapes and harmonies. Grab the single below. You can purchase tickets to the show tonight at the Troubadour here , and pre-order the upcoming LP here . previousl y : Caveman - Old Friend

Jacob Bruce, under the moniker Vacations , has released a 7-inch via Play Pinbal Records. Bruce is known for his uniform vocals and Dick Dale-ish guitar tone as part trio known as Fungi Girls -these rural Texans have been shredding garage rock since before they could drive, and they still can't legally drink. Check out the hip-twisting track "Longing Dream" and order the 7-inch here .

Vocal pop-from-the-future via Lindsay Powell's solo project, Fielded. "Eve of the New Moon" comes off her upcoming, Ninety Thirty Thirty , it does well to drop hints of Kate Bush-worship with beautifully-arranged vocals and instrumentation akin to a Phil Collins' solo albums of the mid-80s. The album will be out on CAPTCHA Records on April 24, pre-order here .

Our LA buds in Snow Wite will be making their way through WTD's homeland of Texas in the next week and have asked us to share some information on the shows they will be playing in Dallas and Austin. They'll have gobs of vinyl, CD-Rs and a brand new Wormhole Records Cassette as they try to survive on gas station food and booze. Check out the dates, some new photos and a message from the dudes after the jump and enjoy this grave-glam video for "Dirge Hole." [...]

White Fence is releasing another album. Yes. I know. These dudes are fucking nuts. "Pink Gorilla" is their fuzziest track yet and certainly an expansion on their sound within the psychedelic genre. Enjoy it.

Brand new track from Pure X entitled "Things In My Head." Masters of the slow jam, the band's next album, Crawling Up The Stairs , will be out May 14th via Acephale Records. previously : Pure X - Back Where I Began

Happy to premiere a new single from Stockton, CA's Surf Club , headed by former Craft Spells member Frankie Soto. "Heaven" is a wistful track led by calm vocals and charming guitar tones, like if Jesus and Mary Chain had taken more hash instead of speed. This track comes as the band heads to LA for a batch of upcoming shows including one with Heathers, check the shows out below. Previously the band released the 103 Young Love EP via Death Party Records. 02/15 – Los Angeles, CA @ House Show [...]

With any kind of move, one has to inventory past experiences, laying some to rest and saving others as experiential knowledge. When the principle mind behind Heathers , Michael Avishay, left Portland after college to move to his native LA, he left behind his most popular and personal music project to date, Ghost Animal. And so Heathers began, first as an idea–based on the belief that uncomplicated melodies retain the most meaning and are accessible to everyone. With their first official track“Teenage Clothes,” the harmonies ebb and flow and the early-Slumberland and Sarah Records adoration is beautifully-apparent. Yet nothing is passe about [...]

Sellorekt/LA Dreams is keeping the dream of 802s West coast paradiso alive and well. Using neon bathing suits, sunglasses and palm trees as his inspiration, he's created an entire catalog of movie sountrack-worthy music for sprinting in place or driving your shiny Ferrari along PCH. Check out the entire Coast EP below and tons of other treasures at the soundcloud .

When I stumbled upon Ulrich Schnauss about a half-decade ago, it was well after I had started to get into the entire shoegaze psychedelic era and it blew my fucking mind that a German electronic artist had crafted the best rendition of the genre since its prime. Since then he has weaved in and out of the molten shoegaze layers that he created in the early to mid-2000s, but with his upcoming record it seems he's found a blissful middle-ground. Check out the video for "A Long Way To Fall" below. A Long Way To [...]

"I Found The Ending" is Dead Gaze 's first single from their upcoming self-titled LP that contains previously released material and some rarities. This track has never seen the light until now and hones in on the Dead Gaze golden's skill of creating lip-smacking pop from the deep South. This is proper preparation for an LP with all-new material that will certainly be released this year.

Video for the track " Wimbledon 1980 " by Indian Wells . Cool idea for a video with this remarkably soothing song. Check it out.

The first release from our age-old buddies over at Mirror Universe Tapes , 2013 looks to be the year they start moving and shaking again. If you're short term memory has failed you, these are the guys that jump-started the careers of Washed Out, Active Child, Toro Y Moi, among others. This is the first single from a compilation they will be releasing sometime in the next 2 months entitled Whatever It Is You're Doing Now . They also have a great new website . Here is what they have to say about this release: Our most [...]

2013 is quickly become the year of the guitar. The year many of us had hoped would come. Paul Dillon is not new to music and his credentials speak for themselves-having played with Mercury Rev, Longwave and Sparklehorse. His first ten songs under the Miracle Falls moniker, known as the Debasement Tapes , range from Loveless- worship to golden grunge-pop in the vein of Teenage Fanclub. According to Dillon he will have another release coming in the Fall, but for now enjoy three of [...]

Great to see Trevor Powers back in action. Youth Lagoon has just released the first single from the upcoming Wondrous Bughouse LP . The 6-minute effort is a noticeably more upbeat than the tracks from his previous album, but retains the romantic chord progression that makes a song a Youth Lagoon song. "Dropla" is a cloudy and full of weirdo-pop deliciousness, check out the track below. Wondrous Bughouse is out on March 5 via Fat Possum.

We're stoked and honored to release DIANA's first physical piece of music. Doldrums created a beautifully-broken remix of "Born Again" for the b-side on the upcoming 123 out on Forest Family Records, January 21. More info here . INSOUND (US) ROUGH TRADE (UK)

Another track from Foxygen , this one a little more representative of the upcoming album, We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic . Speaking prematurely but this is my favorite thing about 2013 thus far.
