Yesterday we heard a small snippet of brand new music from Soundgarden from their brand new song called "Live To Rise" from The Avengers soundtrack. Now we've got the rest of the line up for the OST...and I am a sad person. While bands like Soundgarden, Rise Against and Kasabian are on this album, unfortunately there are bands like Black Veil Brides, Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach on it as well. Seriously, why do all the big action movies need to reach out to bands like these for a [...]

"After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group. From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight." It's official, guys. Jet, the Australian rock band that gave us the monster hits "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Cold Hard Bitch" have said bye-bye. They posted their farewell message on their website which makes the [...]

"Just like the Fenix/We'll ri-yi-yi-yi-yi-yise agaaaaaain! Yeah!" Is this the line that will usher the return of Jack Black and Kyle Gass? That would be nice. Tenacious D had the title track of their forthcoming album, Rize Of The Fenix , played on The Zane Lowe Show on BBC Radio 1 and you can stream it over at BeatsPerMinute.com . It starts out as a simple acoustic riff as Black laments over the critics ripping apart their 2006 movie/soundtrack, The Pick Of Destiny , before going into full on RAWK [...]

As if The Avengers wasn't already going to be an amazing film, now we get a soundtrack that pumps up its amazingness. Soundgarden has released a snippet of a brand new song appearing on the movie's soundtrack called "Live To Rise" which you can check out down below. The soundtrack will be available on May 1st and then the movie comes out on May 4th. Every superhero needs his theme music and The Avengers decided to get distorted.

So yesterday we posted that Sigur Rós was releasing its new album, Valtari , this coming May. Now, down below, you can check out one of the tracks from the album called "Ekki Múkk." The album will be released on May 28th and, according to frontman Jónsi in an interview with Q Magazine , the music on the album "kind of just rolls over you...in a good way." Furthermore, none of the lyrics will be in English and the music will focus on more of an electronic sound [...]

Remember all the hoopla surrounding Aerosmith over the past year and a half? Would Steven Tyler leave the band? Would Joe Perry leave the band? Would there be an Aerosmith at all now that Tyler is an American Idol judge? Well, apparently, our questions have been answered. Tyler, Perry and all the rest have announced the band's first North American tour in three years. Dubbed the "Global Warming" tour (I guess they're environmentally conscious?), it all kicks off on June 16th in Minneapolis, MN. Cheap Trick will be opening for Aerosmith [...]

The new album from Silversun Pickups, Neck Of The Woods, is being released on May 8th but we get to sample a bit of it right now. Head over to 107.7 The End's website to stream the first single off of the album called "Bloody Mary." It'll be available for you to download on iTunes this Monday. You should be made aware, fair weather fans, that the song is no "Panic Switch" so don't be disappointed when you listen to it. Embrace change.

Our favorite Icelandic musical act (sorry Bjork) Sigur Rós is releasing its sixth studio album, Valtari , this coming May. According to Consequence of Sound (via the band's message board ), the album is set to be released on May 28th in the UK which means we can assume its out the next day in North America. The album will include at least seven tracks and the partial tracklisting can be seen down below. It was previously reported that the band would release new material this year. [...]

Ever wanted a tour that rolled up 802s metal, face paint and STD's in one package? Look no further than this summer. Kiss and Mötley Crüe are hitting the road together in 2012 and there'll be plenty of old groupies that'll be ready to get dolled up one more time to relive their glory days filled with boozy nights and staring at the ceiling. The tour will start (provided Vince Neil doesn't get arrested again) on July 20th in Bristol, VA and will come to a close on September 23rd in Hartford, CT. [...]

Uh, Mr. Hansen? We're all big fans of your work but...is there a way you possibly could maybe, perhaps possibly do something along the lines of releasing an album of your own? Maybe? Possibly? Yes, everyone, Beck is back on the scene but with another single for another film. This time it's the new track called "Looking For A Sign" from the new Jason Segel film, Jeff Who Lives At Home . You can stream the track over at 107.7 The End's website or you can just buy it [...]
At The Drive-In RSD release The Flaming Lips RSD release The White Stripes RSD release Jack White tour dates Jack White - "Sixteen Saltines" Neil Young & Crazy Horse releasing album in June Garbage - "Blood For Poppies" Silversun Pickups releasing new album

One of the more exciting acts that I saw at SXSW last week was Ceremony. The California punk-rock band played a set on Saturday, March 17th that had kids jumping off of speaker towers and collectively losing their minds. I'm keeping this band on my radar. Down below you can check out a brand new video for the song "Adult" from their newest album, Zoo . The video shows what really happens in a suburban neighborhood once Father is off to work and Son is off to school. [...]

The anticipated album from Neil Young and Crazy Horse finally has a title and a release date. The album, Americana , will be available on June 5th and will mostly feature American folk songs. RollingStone.com reports that this is the band's first album since 20032s Greendale and the first Crazy Horse album to feature the band's full line up, which is Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank "Poncho" Sampedro, since the 1996 album Broken Arrow . The tracklisting includes classic songs such as "This Land Is Your [...]

The Flaming Lips are planning on making a big splash on Record Store Day with the release of a brand new album featuring collaborations with pretty much everyone in music. Entitled The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends , the album features 13 songs and collaborations with everyone from Coldplay, Bon Iver and Yoko Ono to Ke$ha and Biz Markie. It will be released as a limited edition multi-vinyl set with two multi-colored 123 records placed in separate art jackets and bagged together. CoS points out that no two albums will look alike [...]

I can honestly say, with no regret, that seeing Jack White at SXSW was the highlight of my week . Yes, many may scoff at seeing big name acts at a festival designed to highlight up and coming buzz bands, but...fuck them. So it makes me pleased as spiked punch to know that White is bringing his amazing live show to more places this summer including New York, Nashville, Detroit and Los Angeles. He'll also be supported by Alabama Shakes; another great band I saw in Austin, TX. All the tour dates are [...]
