Well I just previewed Los Angeles artist 'edIT' s track "Ants" and it quickly hit a sweet spot for me. I cant put my finger on what it is about IDM/Glitch music that just casts an eerily relaxed feeling over me, but I have been a fan of said genres and some of the more .. obscure variants I guess you could say such as Spectral for some time. Needless to say, with Halloween right around the corner I am already piecing together a mood appropriate mixtape. If 'Glitch' is your thing, here are a [...]

I never did understand the whole Major Lazer hype. It seems like everyday I would do my listening rounds there they were. To be honest when "Pon De Floor" hit I absolutely hated the song, and found it even more ridiculous when I saw the video. Feeling left behind I tried listening time after time with the same result, until something clicked. Perhaps it was my spinal cord releasing copious amounts of dormant drugs into my bloodstream, but I had flashbacks of all the great shows I've been to. How much better a show was if I could [...]

DJ AM found dead in New York apartment, Age 36. Reports are saying he went out like a rockstar, next to pill bottles and pipe. AM was known for high energy dj sets and could keep the floor moving no matter what the crowd, whether you liked him or not this is sad news indeed. AutoErotique - Gladiator (Steve Aoki / DJ AM Remix) - Vasili

The Xx has been making some major news with their new music. I just found that they will be playing with Friendly Fires at The Henry Fonda "The Music Box" in Los Angeles/Hollywood! Sounds like a HUGE show to me! I'm definitely there, and I know our friends and TILT fam will be there too! I've recently found this killer edit of The Xx song "Shelter" by THEM JEANS ! As a L.A. resident Them Jeans has really made his mark on the scene here. I've seen him live and heard a few other of his [...]
Produced & Edited by Demonbabies and Julian Wadsworth Im unable to say at which point Jokers of the Scene really stepped forward into the limelight as major producers this year, I can however point you in the direction of the massive trail of remixes they've left behind. Fools Gold has just released Jokers Of The Scene's new video to their single "Baggy Bottom Boys" and its about to create quite a buzz. Prior to hearing/viewing this track I had only a couple remixes of theirs to form an opinion [...]

We have discovered a great band from Houston Texas that is mega legit. We have been keeping our eye on the big TX scene since a few other of our fav's come from there as well. Vega, Neon Indian and now Glasnost. All have a very distinct sound, with a touch of dreamwave. The singer of Glasnost has an amazing voice teamed with some excellent guitar work, amazing atmospheric synth stabs, a bassist that knows how the ride the rhythm and killer drummer. We can't wait for these guys to drop a full album. Keep your eyes open all you [...]
dir. Taylor Cohen, pro. Otto Arsenault Dear Acid Girls , oh how I waited and waited for this moment to come. If any readers out there hasn't had a chance to watch this video in full take the time! Its really not much to ask considering the plot: a voyeuristic 'Big Brother' concept camera, following a house full of twisted California beauties, paired with the absolute sickest track of the year. You can find the original write-up with their new single 'The Numbers Song' here. Check out iTunes Here [...]

A few months ago, here at the TILT HQ, we heard that Felix Da Housecat was about to make some moves. Pushing the envelope again and coming with the old school style he came correct on this one! His song "We All Want To Be Prince" is a mellow jam even good ol mom and pops would even dance to. HA! The video has some major Celeb Cameos and Hommies. WE LOVE IT! Check Check IT! Here are two of our favorite remixes of [...]

Grum has been cranking out tracks out of the UK for the last 1 1/2 years. He just keep coming with his original steez! His style is def one of a kind. He has givin us huge original tracks like "WHOA!" which was huge last year to remixing a few of his favorite artists like Friendly Fires and Peace Fire this year. We have to break out with his new track "Runway"! We are unable to post the original version which is off the hook, but you can buy it via Beatport or preview it on his myspace. Instead [...]
Those bastards over at the Acid Girls HQ in Los Angeles gave me the stroke face with this next one. I dont know what combination of drugs these guys were on but seriously, 'The Numbers Song' is the pinnacle of painful dance music. This is easily my favorite track of the year and I can't give them enough praise for their ominously dark video that envelops the mood perfectly. To put this in context, the Chemical Brothers ' Believe ' (although much higher production value) sounds like a Cat Stevens cover project compared to this. Enjoy! [...]

Our good "famous friends" from the east coast have dropped some greatness for us to share with everyone. The Flashmen continually keep flexing their incredible Eastcoast Dreamwave sound. We love the direction they have been taking their music. They recently just rocked the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival last week. These guys are def making the right moves. The single "Little Wildcat" is amazing and the remixes are just as hot! Their is a total of 4 remixes of this track so far. Each one gives "Little Wildcat" a different dimension. Loves it! Here's our fav! [...]

I have yet to really brag about an artist from Canada since Thunderheist back in January, but now the time has come. PILOTPRIEST is the man! Coming with mad fresh beats from up north. My Canadian Mountie Brother from Toronto Canada knows how to heat up up track to keep the dancefloors hot! What the fuck are they feeding those kids up there. He took an original track from my childhood by Run-DMC and remixed that shit to fit the times! MY ADIDAS MUTTHA FUCKAS! Run-DMC - My Adidas (Pilotpriest Remix) [...]

A fairly heavy set of mixes this weeked that caught my attention and its fair to say Im in love with these tracks. France based Night Drugs has taken Disco Villains new single "We Just Came out to Get the Party Started" to a completely new level, making it almost impossible to even conceive any remix of this being any harder or danceable. Damn right people like it. We Just Came Out to Get the Party Started (Night Drugs Remix) - [...]
Uplifting, progressive and inspirational are just a few ways to describe We Were Promised Jetpacks , but make no mistake as their message is often reminiscent of childhood fears and darker emotions. These Four Walls (released June 15, 2009) is a enigmatic album indeed, in my case walking me through feelings of love, loss and the path inbetween. With often upbeat instrumentals, peel back the layers of songs such as "It's Thunder And It's Lightning" to really see what these guys are about. " Standing on our tip-toes Peering through open windows I swear I [...]

It all began in September of 2008 when I first heard of Valerie hailing from France. I've always loved the collective and what they had to offer to the music world. Lately I've been feeling Minitel Rose and their new CONTINUE EP Album! You gotta love the innovative, one of a kind French sound that these guys have been putting out. I'm so loving their crisp clean eye candy videos. Fun, upbeat and FRESH 2 DEF! These guys def make the top 20 of my favorite artists of 2009. ALSO, Be sure to check out the Valerie Compilation with [...]

Epic new remix from San Francisco based trio Pance Party . These guys just keep putting out amazingly heavy hitting beats that beg the question: Can a silly name really hinder success? They have a sound so infectious and bassy that their limited publicity is beyond me. Check out their new work on Chester French - She Loves Everybody, along with a couple of their older tracks I highly recommend. She Loves Everybody (Pance Party [...]
