I put together a quick edit from the Childish Gambino show my girlfriend Brittany and I went to on Monday. It was a great show. This amazing film by Dentsu London and  BERG   explores playful uses for the increasingly ubiquitous ‘glowing rectangles’ that inhabit the world. We use photographic and animation techniques that were developed to draw moving 3-dimensional typography and objects with an iPad. In dark environments, we play movies on the surface of the iPad that extrude 3-d light forms as they move through the exposure. Multiple exposures with slightly different movies make up the stop-frame animation.

In his work he began with an existing book and sealed its edges, creating an enclosed vessel full of unearthed potential. He cut into the surface of the book to dissect through it from the front. Working with knives, tweezers and surgical tools to carve one page at a time, exposing each layer while cutting around ideas and images of interest.
