The super sultry-voiced UK R&B songstress follows up her great Dev Hynes collaboration "Unravel" with the doubly strong and infinitely sexy "Cold Front". Laura Welsh ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8.4

In what has to be the best way to start off the weekends in summertime LA, Hollywood premiere club, Lure has showcased an impressive DJ lineup for its recent Private Label series. Putting together big and on-the-rise talent on the same bill is not easy to do week-in and week-out, but the powers that be have done just that. Having Bag Raiders, Chris Malinchak, Fred Falke and Azari & III all headline in the month of May is pretty incredible, and closing the series out this Friday with Ladyhawke, Yacht and Neon Indian... is just plain sick. "Betwixt", new from UK 18 year-old (1) OMN (Ollie McKendrick-Ness), reminds a bit (to us at least) of great Icelandic bands like Sigur Ros and Mum while morphing the sonorousness of those sounds with more modern beats, programming, and atmospheres. We are into it. OMN - Betwixt OMN ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8.4

Newcomer Jaymes Young delivers a sharp blend of disparate yet complementary influences and highly skilled melodic phrasing with his piano-driven track for "Wondering". James Young ( Facebook ) Rating 8.3

FYFE, a/k/a former David's Lyre frontman Paul Dixon, is name on the lips, tweeters, spotify playlists of seemingly all the world's music bloggers/tastemakers/rigmarole , on the strength no less of just two (VERY VERY GOOD) tracks. "Conversations" is FYFE's latest and is neither a departure in quality nor progression for the UK-based artist; as both "Solace" and "St. Tropez" have been uniquely engaging in sound, such is the slightly more hip-hop/beats-tinged "Conversations". FYFE ( Facebook ) Rating 8.4

New vibes from Thelonious Martin and the fresh subterranean sounds of instrumental track "Mirage". Thelonious Martin ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8

Check out the well-heeled and globally-influenced deep house sound of German artist Ferdinand Weber and his track "Told You". Ferdinand Weber - Told You Ferdinand Weber ( Facebook ) Rating 8.10785

New York rapper Blitz The Ambassador pays tribute to one of the greatest shot-blockers (& index finger wavers) in NBA history with this heatin' up send up to Dikembe Mutombo. DIKEMBE! Blitz's Afropolitan Dreams LP is due later this year. Blitz The Ambassador ( Facebook ) Rating 8.2

You already know what this is. Listening to Joey Bad rhyming about Metatron, fuck yo couch, & George Pataki over a top of his class jazz piano-inflected Statik Selektah is something akin to flying or teleporting or something else equally bangin. "Summer Knights" drops June 12. Joey Bada$$ ( Facebook ) Rating 8.5

The girl Ellie shows out for all the Alt-J fanboys and fangirls on the interwebs with this 100% spotless vibed-out sax-featuring cover of "Tessellate". Ellie Goulding ( Official ) ( Purchase Halcyon on iTunes ) Rating: 8.8

We just got smooth and sophisticated w/ Knxwledge and his sax positive waterbed-wave spin on N.E.R.D.'s (& Kanye & Lupe & Pusha T) "Everybody Nose". We're riding those waves. 8. thts.rt$100[TWRK] by Knxwledge. Knxwledge ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8.5

It’s somewhat disappointing that (according to the bands biography at least) there is nowhere else to go from here, as Febueder “squeeze that last succulent drop out of drum, bass and guitar” music. They may well be right, who knows, but at least we can take comfort from the fact that they are doing their utmost to make that last drop an interesting one. "Alligator" draws from so many genres & sounds and genuinely succeeds in producing something deep and pleasing. It’s taken from their forthcoming EP Soap Carv and if their predictions are correct then [...]

Leeds UK producer Debian impresses again with soulful space garage of his new remix for Mt. Wolf. The original track for "Shapeshifter", a slow-grooved alt-R&B-ref'ing bit of indie pop, is nice enough for sure; here, though Debian completely flips the total complexion and feel of the song switching in a unique & slightly vibed interpreation of the current UK garage sound without turning the track into some sort of cliche. Very well done. Debian Blak ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8.4

Temples debuted with their fine single "Shelter Song", which led people to wonder whether the UK "neo-psych" band would be able to follow-it up. The answer is a firm yes with "Colours to Life", their new single which offers a haunting and melodic retro feel. Temples dazzled audiences during a couple of unannounced gigs at last weekend's Great Escape festival in Brighton, UK. They play great live. It doesn't hurt that they all look like stars, with lead singer James Bagshaw featuring a perfect Tommy Bolan hairstyle. They've got some more stellar songs as well, so Temples have a serious [...]

We linked up with York UK-based singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich while he was in Los Angeles this past winter kicking off his debut headlining U.S. tour. We had the very distinct pleasure to capture a couple exclusive performances; including "Maps" filmed on the inside of a photobooth as well as an impromptu performance of "Break The Day Open" from his In The Open EP. Since wrapping his last string of European tour dates, Ben has been recording and prepping the release of a new album. We can't wait and we will definitely keep you posted [...]

B3 Team favorites HAERTS (mind yr A's & E's) come up aces on the sweeping and cinematic indie-pop-performed-at-the-edg e-of-the-universe "All The Days". Get psyched, people! *Also be sure to check out our interview with band during SXSW 2013 here . HAERTS ( Soundcloud(/a>) Rating 8.2

As June approaches, the heart of festival season slowly creeps closer. Music and art lovers will flock to parks and open fields to experience the massive movement that is the new age music festival. What was once just a rotation of bands on one stage in an open field, has now turned into a multiple day experience of music, art, culture, food, etc. Just think, fans all over the country can literally plan a cross country road trip and incorporate a music festival into almost every major city if they like! For us here in Southern California, we [...]

NYC singer songwriter Eli Mardock rejuvenates new life into the Arcade Fire-like indie rock orchestration we've heard lax so many times before. "Everything Happens for the First Time" is the title track from his forthcoming debut album on Paper Garden Records which recently premiered via Virgin Mobile . This track is just begging for our next road trip spin, windows down required. We're into it. Have a listen and sing-along to "Everything Happens for the First Time" below. Eli Mardock ( Official ) [...]

Oooh baby. B3 all-time faves Quadron break off a little something for you and yr boo to slow dance to with the new Kendrick (!)-featuring "Better Off". It's about to get very sexy on this blog. Quadron ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8.4

Giftz and Tree grab a few of their brahs (incl. faves Kami de Chukwu, Joey Purp & Dally Auston) for this posse remix to their track "Nino". "I took her home and I enjoyed that", the Rick Ross "UOENO" verse shots continue to pour in (maybe the fourth or fifth one this week) and could conceivably be a genre unto themselves about now. p.s. "Nino" samples a B3SCI consensus all-time favorite track in Tammi Terrell's "All I Do Is Think Of You". Giftz ( Twitter [...]
