On As Cities Burn recent string of tour dates, Wall of Ears (ft. ACB vocalist Cody Bonnette and guitarist Chris Lott) gave out a 6 song EP featuring the first released material from the new project. It looks like they've opted to make things more official as they've announced plans to release a 9 song EP entitled Perfect Organ Assembly . Small Black have announced their sophomore full-length Limits of Desire . In addition to the announcement, they've released "Free At Dawn" , a track that finds the band in simpler form, putting vocalist Josh Kolenik front and center. LVL UP have announced plans to release their Extra Worlds EP this spring. Their criminally underrated 2011 LP SPACE BROTHERS was a perfect concoction of burnt out bedroom punk pop that touched home with the apathetic slacker slumbering inside me. I've been jamming this new Barrow record pretty much endlessly since I first heard it last week. It's a bleak, brooding beast built on a behemoth of heavily textured screamo, giving nods to established genre cornerstones like Pianos Become The Teeth and The Saddest Landscape with some brief and genuinely beautiful clean parts mixed in that are reminiscent of As Cities Burn's post-rock influence on Come Now Sleep . The Postal Service dropped their first new song in a decade today with "A Tattered Line Of String" . Like much of the world who was ecstatic at the prospect of getting overdue new material from these guys, let this serve as a reminder that some things are best left untouched in the recesses of our warm nostalgia. Suffice to say, not even Jenny Lewis could redeem this one.
