The new Yo La Tengo track "Here To Fall" floated across my radar this morning thanks to the ever resourceful Large Hearted Boy . It's fabulous and spacey, like listening to an orchestra jam with a jazz band on some outer rim planetary dive bar. It also makes me sort of regret never paying attention to Yo La Tengo before. I love noir for many reasons. One: I'm fascinated by the genre's bleak outlook and low opinion of human behavior. I don't always share this view, but I respect its attachment to reality (and, let's face it, real life sometimes unfolds exactly how noir predicts it will). Two: the cover art.
