Japanese bondage is definitely what Heidi Klum would call "in" right now. Lady GaGa has been caught everywhere around the world wearing it, and now Preen designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi admit that their Spring 2010 ready to wear collection has been also inspired by it as well. The collection consisted a decent amount of structured blazers and light pastel colors, then moved on to dark bondaged lingirie-looking dresses and AMAZING shoulder straps (love the simple black dress with 3 thin shoulder straps). The only problem I had were [...]
About 2 months ago we were given a taste (rather, an entree) of Jean Paul Gaultier's collaboration with Dragonette and Martin Solveig in "Boys & Girls" , the latest track being used for his adverts. We were also given a hint of an upcoming remix by an unknown artist at the time of the duet that was slated to be 'released soon'. The remix has finally arrived, and Les Petits Pilous from Boys Noize are one of the first to remix it. The song has been [...]
Grizzly Bear has finally released a really interesting music video to " While You Wait For The Others ", their 2nd single from the chart topping 'Veckatimest'. Last week, we posted a new version of the song that featured Michael McDonald for the b-side of this single.
L.A. indie folk band Princeton delivered us a new music video via Pitchfork, from their September 29th 'Cocoon Of Love" album release, to "Martina & Clive Krantz" . The band gets murdered and killed in the video by a mysterious character (check out who it is in the end!). Princeton - "Martina & Clive Krantz" Stream Also, Princeton is touring the U.S. and be sure to catch at least one of [...]

Neon Indian has done it again. The new brainchild and potentially new 'it' band of 2009 (consisting of veteran producer/songwriter Alan Palomo of Vega), has remixed Au Revoir Simone's " Another Likely Story " possibly turning it into a more wonderful song than it's original. The original version of " Another Likely Story" is truly a stellar, airy, pop song. Those chicks sure know what they're doing. And likewise, Neon Indian knows how to only enhance the great characteristics encompassing the original track. Neon Indian pulled the band's trademark vocal sound and flair for keyboards and [...]

It seems like songs/albums leaking early is the theme of September! …. And the theme continues…Yet, another Muse song leaked from their upcoming album, The Resistance. "Undisclosed Desires" has an eccentric pop meets rock sound (even a little electric appeal, but I guess that's kind of Bellamy's style). My favorite parts of the song are the vocals and strings – I think they are great! It's a danceable and enjoyable track that I wouldn't change if it started playing from my iPod. The album is scheduled for release next week. And catch them [...]

I am all over Lady Gaga. If you read Mossip (my previous blog), you would understand my obsession. Lady GaGa and Dr. Dre's genius minds have collaborated to make - nope, not a song, but a pair of spectacular earphones. These earphones, visually, are like sex. I've never seen headphones like this! Lady GaGa even said that they portray the studded jackets that her and her friends used to wear to go out in New York in a recent press conference . She is also holding out a [...]
Micachu from Micachu and The Shapes stands in front of a background of sky and trees and leaves as she lip syncs in their latest video, "Shape Me Well".
After starting 2009 off with a power hitting, breath-taking single " Fixin To Thrill" , Dragonette is allowing us take a breath from the dance floor with their next single "Pick Up The Phone", a slower but still Dragonette-styled dance song. This song takes on a little bit more serious side to the Canadian native band, and not the typical blasting dance song that they usually take the route to. Martina's vocals seems to have calmed down, and overall this is just a nice, laid back pop song. They have also released the music [...]

Almost 2 months ago, the first track from TV On The Radio's Kyp Malone leaked online under the name ' Rain Machine ' titled "Give Blood" and a release date for his debut side project LP, September 22nd. Just last week, Tunde Adebimpe officially announced that the band was going to take a year hiatus working on side projects. So just be clear - the band did not break up. "Smiling Black Faces" is the most recent track we've heard by Rain Machine, a 6 minute song including topics [...]
In between showing up on Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3 to lend a chorus hook on "What We Talkin' About," Luke Steele has released a David Bowie influenced music video with an abundance of eye make-up, feather wings, and a light-up jungle gym. "Without You " is the fourth video from 2008's Walking On a Dream .

After exploding the charts up with his incendiary single "Day N Nite" Kid Cudi returns with an interesting combination of artists and another song off his up and coming LP. Well I'll admit first seeing this collaboration i was a bit nervous and skeptical. Too many superstars can spoil the broth, or however the old saying goes. But, after several listen through I was proved wrong. With most Hip-Hop these days moving towards more of an electronic direction, rather than the old hip hop, it seems like Kid Cudi is jumping on the bandwagon [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. Britney Spears sang live last night a cover of Alanis Morissette's "You Outta Know" and it was amazing. This is actually the first time that Britney actually sang live during the whole duration of the Circus tour. She needs to record this cover for her Singles Collection out in October, or perform it live w/Alanis at the VMA's!

This is Leona's first single off of her sophomore LP ECHO due out November 15th. Titled "Happy," she co-wrote this tune with Ryan Tedder of One Republic, the same Ryan Tedder who co-wrote her first smash, "Bleeding Love." This song is stellar, with a good PG message of opening up yourself to the possibilities and opportunities this world has to offer and to not close up and barricade yourself inside. Leona goes to lengths to plead with the listener to do whatever it takes to be happy, beyond any outside restraints or consequences. Read what others are saying [...]
The ever so fantastic La Roux has released the music video to "I'm Not Your Toy". It's basically a video of her singing at some fancy rich pool party, with some weirdness added on to it. Have you noticed that the production of their music videos have gone up? I'm so glad that they are maintaining success.
It's almost ironic to have a song called " Die Slow" if your band is named HEALTH . But hey, it's cool to be ironic nowadays, right? In April, noise rock band HEALTH emerged with their first new single since 2007: 'Die Slow' received immediate accolades from Pitchfork & NME, with the effects rippling across their DIE SLOW THROUGH EUROPE tour, resulting in a near-riot in Eastern Europe. The song's infectious fusion of noise and dance was the most fully-formed and undeniably rad piece of music from HEALTH yet. And here is the music video. [...]
Penguin Prison is the latest artist with Neon Gold Records , the blog turned label known for exposing Passion Pit, Marina & The Diamonds and Yes Giantess. Neon Gold have kindly offered this original track from Penguin Prison which will be featured on his first released single coming out sometime this Autumn. You may have heard of PP through his great remix of Marina & The Diamond's 'I'm Not A Robot'. If not, there's good reason to start paying attention to him now. 'Animal Animal' is a real fun slice of electro pop with bubbly [...]

Talk about a one in a million chance! Marc Nicol , the bassist of Sunset Rubdown , was having a normal evening a few weeks ago when Mother Nature got in the way - and stuck him by lightning into his back. "My heart started back up after the electrical shock. I woke up feeling like I was suffocating and was delirious. Then I passed out for an hour, woke back up and saw the hair singed on my leg. Only then I knew." Marc [...]

These guys hit the cyber webs about a year ago but I keep revisiting them, shocked that they never hit with a bigger impact. LA-based rock band, The Library , has got such a unique sound that flows directly into the vein of electronic/dance/rock that's giving the music industry a pulse right now. And with amazingly soulful and strong lead vocals from front-man, Court Alexander, it's pop-y enough to push into the mainstream. They've been likened to The Killers meets Sam Sparro, with a hint of Jamiroquai, but really there's no comparison. The music falls into a [...]
