Finally took the time to listen to the debut EP by Ottawa's Boyhood . Boyhood is the brainchild of Caylie Runciman. I happened to catch them live on December 30, 2011 . Listening to the whole EP, I was really impressed with it. Has that grungey lo-fi pop rock sound to it. Very much like the music of the defunct Calgary band Women. The standout track in my opinion is Where I'm Going. Think of Portishead if they went lo-fi and still maintain that trip-hoppy [...]

Today Joel Plaskett Emergency dropped a fourth single, entitled Slow Dance . This is the fourth song in a series of ten to be recorded and digitally released by Joel and his band The Emergency; one song a week for ten weeks before Scrappy Happiness comes out on March 27, 2012. The wait is over come January 31, 2012. That is when Lana Del Rey drops the long awaited debut album "Born To Die". With all the hype and big lips (no pun intended) talking about the legitimacy of her music. Born To Die is 15 tracks which will get people talking. With all the hype surrounding, it is a decent album but not "groundbreaking" as I was expecting. Listening to the whole album, you can tell she is more of a studio artist than live artist. [...]

Here is another installment of "Who did it better"? I know the song is old but I can't stop listening to it. This time it is the song Titanium by David Guetta . I think it is the best and standout track on "Nothing But the Beat" and doesn't feature any R&B/Hip-hop artist.
