Young Galaxy 's fourth album dropped on April 23, 2013. I've been a fan of their music since they released Invisible Republic back in 2009. It wasn't until 2011 they released Shapeshifting when they changed a direction in their music. Still going through with the electronic and synthpop route. Matthew de Zoete was in Ottawa on June 5th. He played a nice folk singer/songwriter set. This was my first time seeing play a show-show in Ottawa. He played tracks from his album "Colour Film". Overall it was a nice evening. Rest of the photos are here .
News came out today of the sudden passing of The Mark Inside 's Chris Levoir. The news was shocking, sad and broke my heart. I only got to see the band live in Ottawa twice. ( June 24, 2011 & October 28, 2011 ) They were pretty a loud energetic band and were nice to chat with. But were great to photograph. RIP Chris Levoir. 1981-2013. Way too soon. It was a scorching hot Friday night. Went to Raw Sugar Cafe to see Brothers Dubé . Got there in time when they played their first song. The places was definitely packed of people standing and sitting. If you aren't aware, they are three brothers and they play rock music. They are very young and really talented. They used to busker outside of Bluesfest and it wasn't until a few years that a band let's call them [...]
Today I was guest filling in for Hop The Fence on CHUO FM . It was pretty fun and crazy show. I had on the phone Jeremy Fisher and Ottawa's The Gallop came in the studio. Caila Thompson-Hannant who goes by Mozart's Sister has finally dropped a music video for her single (get this) simply called "Mozart's Sister". The single is taken from the EP called Hello out on Merok Records . Anyways I can't stop listening to her fun dance pop music. The music video has that 1960s European arthouse look to it. But what the heck I will make a glowing review for Gravez, if they like it or not (Just sayin'! ) I've been a fan of Hooded Fang since they released their EP a few years back. Ottawa's Fevers held their single release party at Ritual on May 25th. There was high anticipation because the band previewed alot of new material for their upcoming full-length album. I had to say I really enjoyed the new tracks. Had that indie electro-dance pop music. Sort of reminded me of Metric & Stars. It was definitely a fun night and people were dancing.
