Jean Michel Jarre - Hypnose Oxygen has 30 years and JM Jarre is on a world tour. An artist unjustly ridiculed in France, probably because of his fondness for grandiose stagings. It was rather a nice boy, Jean Michel, and then apart his narcissistic "Afflelou" side (the kid had to appear on all his videos), I still find his music timeless. Here's a track made with a TV magician, Dominic Webb. This is the instrumental version and on the album "rarities".

Roland Bocquet - Digital Vision . This is the end of my fight with my music toys, only because of this melodic synth track composed by Roland Bocquet, from the Robot Rose LP, available in a nice french library released in 1982: " RCA Media volume 2". More infos here .

Gesundes Volksempfinden - Mein Sex . Hello, somebody's still there? Here's a quickie from their 1981 self-titled album, slightly edited to avoid the discomfort of an embarassing saxophone ending. I'm still digging into the NDW and german post-punk music, so you can hope that I'll post some other gems next time, like, in 6 months.

Francis Martin - Modern Times . B-side favorite "Techno Tribe" track from an obscure french library released in 1984, " RCA Media volume 26". Pretty material for retro-futurism and romantics fans. More infos here .

Sugalo - Sonne, Mond, tausend Sterne and Leben im Plastikleben . Charming German-teen new wave from 1982 that immediately reminds me of Andreas Dorau and, to a lesser extent, the first two Ti-Tho 45s. Synth pop reworkings of traditional Schlager tunes. What fun!

Roboterwerke - High on tech . That's my request to end belgian winter's. This pretty proto-house song was made by Roboterwerke (Frankfurt, germany) in 1981. I suppose they've made himself their drumbox.. There's also some interesting funk projects with cheesy vocals under Supersempfft name's, few years before.

Tester Housing - The Clock Ticks Over . A lone 1983 single from an Australian duo that, to me, comes across like a low-key version of Depheche Mode when they were doing their "Speak & Spell" thing. Confession: the majority of these obscure, little synth groups are really outside of my (limited) range of expertise, sadly. That said, I feel this should immediately be added to my own personal pantheon of songs that should have been huge . List forthcoming.

The Field Mice - September's Not So Far Away & Let's Kiss And Make-Up , from the 1990 Coastal album. Degrees at zero over here, so no reason to cheer up. With the right amount of over-production in order to appeal the masses, this would been able to bury, let's say, Oasis… I'm happy no one dared to do such a thing to these songs.

Amin Peck - Suicidal . It's not my state of mind for sure, don't worry! This monster dance-track arranged by master G. Fyron was, I think the more 'transdance' production for the night moves, realesed in 1983, alltime arpeggio's champion. You can quickly buy this excellent piece on Discogs

Bodenstandig 2000 - Party Ganze Nacht & U.D.R. - Bonde da Orgia de Travecos . It's a draw! The fact that two different bands from totally unrelated countries can decide to sing in the same particular weird way really amazed me, so I had to share it asap. (and if you want more U.D.R. music, there's many free tracks here )

Stéréo - No More . We want more amazing 'minimal wave' [lol] from 1982, another French group which sings in English.. A tribute to one of my favorites radios: CBS from Holland, recently put off. You can listen old-mixes, database from actors of the radio like I.F or Loud-E: here

Roxanne Shanté - Roxanne Running (Die Meister Xterminator Krew Mix) . Some things never change, and even if you already know it , I'm still really addicted to Ms Shanté's voice. This one song may sound funny to some ears, with oldschool futuristic lasers and stuff, but with Roxanne's flow on top of it, it's truly amazing. Oh and… when exactly will The Vapors movie be released?

Vaughan Mason - Ho Song . Vaughan Mason produce this solo project on Raze "Jack The Groove" Maxi repressed for Boys Records in 1986. This is a Chicago boogie a bit Jamaican.. Yeah, man!

Georges Watts - Electric Man - DJ's version. Bishop had been kind enough to record some gems from his record collection, so here is my fave so far, a bizarrely fast and busy song by George Watts, with some crazy cover art probably made by the same guy responsible for the Bride of Pinbot pinball.

Logic System - Automatic Collect . This is a must for YMO fans, from 1981 the most YMO style of the Logic System albums. Co-producer Ryo Kawakami composed most of the tunes. Matsutake has producer's credit but credits the music to his sequencers.. You can buy the LP 'Venus' on CD & LP

Roxy Music - The Main Thing . Nice re-edit from new-yorker's Rub'n'Tug The Main Thing ", Roxy Music was the first group with Brian Eno (electronics & visuals), he joined the group of Brian Ferry in 1971 after art-school studies. We can found in Rub and Tug a certain lifestyle like Eno, in art, music.. The LP "Avalon" of Roxy Music on Ebay
