Krazy Kommandos

Mekanik Kommando - Pain In Eden from the 1983 "Snake Is Queen" album & White Soldier from the 1981 "It Would Be Quiet In The Woods If Only A Few Birds Sing" album. Discog . Peter van Vliet and another member of the new wave band Zelek formed a collective of other like minded artist, put out 2 songs on a free flexidisc from Vinyl magazine in 1980, then were signed the next year to Torso records, then to EMI in 1983. The very best of kitsh

Valery Allington - Stop . I think she's an english woman, but I'm not sure.. This title come from 1982 on Carrere label for France or Emergency for US/UK. Style: electronic/Italo disco. Sorry, but I love "Kitsh" in music: black woman voices with super text (poesy) and house rythm! This is a good exemple of an intelligent song writer. Maybe this song/beat he's really strong, nice.. NRG !

Wonderland

Klein & M.B.O. - Wonderfull . Italian post-disco stalwarts Klein & MBO were formed around the nucleus of Tomas Ramirez Carrasco and Mario Boncaldo. During the mid-'80s, singles like "Dirty Talk," "Wonderful" and "The MBO Theme" became big hits in both the emerging New York garage scene and Chicago's house community. Little else is known about the duo, though their singles remained DJ favorites well into the next decade.

Wake Up !

Bohannon - Wake Up . Hamilton Bohannon was a perfect funkyman... In 1983, the same for a lot of guy's he was attack by synths & electronic drums, read more at discomuseum.com

Time to ride the Coxx

Michael J. Coxx - Nuekidz and Stinkfinger . (no no, not this Michael). Oh my, I wish I live in the U.K. to see this phenomenon live. Let him introduce himself: "Hi I'm Michael J. Coxx and if you believe the HYPE then I will be at your CLUB NIGHT, HOUSE PARTY or COUNTRY CLUB very soon, in my underpants, screaming my weak ass rhymes in your face!!!". He also made an extreme DIY internet new-age video you might enjoy as well for the NKOTB homage song. ( bug him [...]

Rock Your Body... All Night

Trinere - All Night and Ill Be All You Ever Need from the 1985 Single 'All Night and the 1986 Single 'I'll Be All You Ever Need. Great old school electro that everyone loves.. at least everyone with a soul. This is some of the best dance music and it's never around enough these days. Trinere rocks the party.. now rock your body !! ( buy it from amazon)

O Captain! My Captain!

My Robot Friend - Walt Whitman from the Walt Whitman 12". While trying to learn the secret of being human (in fact I'm sure he just wants some easy sex action), our new robotic overlord pays homage to the famous american transcendentalist but also homosexual Walt Whitman (1819-1892). Anyway, Howard Robot (as he's known by his close friends) produced here the most catchy song he ever did imo. Try it on a dancefloor please, many people tend to forget what the word "electro" really mean these days. ( buy it from gemm)

Sweet sweet heartbreak

Love Too Soon in Pascal Comelade's L'argot du bruit. Pascal Comelade plays a toy xylophone to the gut-wrenching voice of PJ Harvey. Comelade has an extensive collection of toy instruments, and he uses them craftily to bare the song raw. Probably one of the most sincere, almost deadpan rendition of heartbreak. A friend once told me one could not listen to Roberta Flack if they had never been in love; this song works the same way. Please do not cry. Enjoy! ( buy it from gemm)

Rheingold - Der Ton Macht Musik and Digital from the 1984 "Distanz" LP. It's hard to find really good songs (aka pop hits) when it comes to krautrock/german early synthpop. Apart for Can or Neu! already well-know songs, a lot of this music sounds really dated and too experimental/arty for my own tastes. But speaking about Rheingold , I love the "aerobics" feel in the "Der Ton Macht Music" song above, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the dreamy "Digital" as well. ( buy it from gemm)

Renegades

The Passage - Xoyo and Animal in Me off the Cherry Red single. I came across this at my all-time favorite grossly overpriced record store just the other day and feverishly grabbed it without any hesitation. To my listening surprise, the "Xoyo" single seems to be a couple octives higher than the "Degenerates" version, and I've read that it was perceived as a mega-hit which, I guess, didn't catch on. Maybe the subject matter coupled with sinister vocoder narration was a bit too much for some in 1982. That's cool. [...]

Artist name hunt: My Nutella

Someone - My Nutella . Please help me on this one, sometimes people forget to tag mp3 files properly, and when the music's good nothing can be worse than that. The only facts I know: this guy's from England, and this song was found on a myspace page (I've already tried to use the myspace music search but nada. Perhaps you'll be luckier than me). Because I really love this Nirvanesque song, can you help me to give credit to the right artist?
