Pop Fest has been happening here for a number of years, and I've gotten to see some amazing acts...including Tullycraft, Go Sailor, Allo Darlin', Pants Yell!, Betty and The Werewolves, (the almighty) BOAT, and I even got to dance to Japan's Caucus covering a Rocketship song! While I haven't been able to attend every event it's something that I look forward to every May. Carol [...]

doored: is the cyclist at fault?

doored: is the cyclist at fault? Yesterday, around 6:15pm, while riding in Long Island City a woman getting out of the backseat of a car service (or black cab) opened her car door into me while I was on my bike. She was exiting the car street side(not curbside), and her door was opened into my body (my leg has a door shaped bruise on it). The car service was double parked. I was knocked to the ground. The woman who hit me seemed concerned. Her friend who got out of the other side of the car started to immediately tell me [...]

this is not here vii (revisited) Hey Friends, It's the last saturday of the month, tomorrow (you know September 24th?!?) and I'm spinning records again at the Diamond ...this has been pretty regular except for a little rain out by the hurricane. Emily and Ted will behind the bar, and while I don't have a scan of it this time...there is a nice flier hanging up around Greenpoint w/ a picture of Neil's crotch and his lovely yashika camera. this is some of my inspiration for the evening...some of which will and will not [...]
