Parisian electro monster The Toxic Avenger has a new single out this summer entitled 'Never Stop' through Roy Music and Universal France. This release follows on from the collaboration with controversial French rapper Orelsan and heads up the build-up to his debut LP 'Angst'. The new LP will feature a bewildering array of international vocalists and MCs from all over the world including Annie (NO), Simon Elle Est Bonne (FR), Lexicon (US), BonjourAfrique (FR), South Central (UK) and Messinian (US). Expect the trademark electro, bass and horror-themed beats. LP aside, the new [...]

Wow, big day for Trouble & Bass : Drop The Lime , ahead of the release of his new LP in September, has signed to gargantuan independent (make of that what you will) imprint Ultra . In addition to that, his bestest pal AC Slater has been giving away one bootleg every week this month, Yes, it came to his attention that his recent tour in Australia may have made the rest of planet Earth feel rather neglected and malnourished. In light of this, he's not only thrown remixes at us like it [...]

Word on the proverbial grapevine is that the incorrigibly fine-tuned ears of Elijah and Skilliam have picked up on and released a new single from P Money and Blacks entitled 'Boo Yoo' and will be featured on their Butterz imprint. The new single is the first vocal release on the label and features the masterful production of TRC and Royal T. You can stream 'Boo Yoo' below. Incidentally, two remixes of TRC's 'Oo Aa Ee' feature as the b-sides to the single and can be grabbed as of yesterday. In addition that, you can also check [...]

I never thought I'd be agreeing with The Daily Telegraph about Grime, but apparently they know their stuff when it comes to Virus Syndicate . Going so far as to describe them as "some of the tautest British MC-ing since the first Dizzee Rascal Album", I'd go a step further. If you heard the recent track I posted ('Need U' - a collaboration with Kastle), you'll also know they have a knack for teaming up with some of the most inventive producers going. So it'll come as no surprise that this new track sees another Seclusiasis [...]

What’s your musical background? How did you get started? My Musical background was quite similar to everyone else's. Listened to different types of music, enjoyed going out raving. I wasn't into producing music or DJing until I was about 19. I was at college one day with my friend and our lesson got cancelled. He said he was going home to have a mix. I thought, "Let me come try and have a go". He showed me a few basics and once I touched the decks and mixer I was hooked. I remember putting on a record [...]

UK bass wizards Ursa Major have stepped up to the big league with their new EP 'Blacklight' on Trouble & Bass . It's a promising debut that combines House, Funky, Ambient and Cumbia. Seriously, 2011 is turning out to be a really promising year for music as the definition of what's suitable for the dancefloor becomes more and more twisted. To celebrate the release, Trouble & Bass are holding a remix contest for Ursa Major's next single 'Low Rises'. Go here to download the parts of the song and then upload your reworking [...]

News has struck my inbox of the announcement that Hey Today! will be releasing their new single on Kitsuné in June. It boasts an impressive remix package including Black Strobe, Para One and Abstraxion. The new single 'Minor' is to be released June 6 and promises electro-tinged wonder as well as a free remix from TWR72, which you can stream below.

If recent interviews are anything to go by, Zomby is beginning to make moves away from Dubstep toward more Hip-Hop influenced productions. One such production is the track 'Things Fall Apart' which features Panda Bear. There does remain a dub influence with snippets of horns and clipped gunshots piercing what is an otherwise dark and moody production. If you're looking for a comparison, it kinda runs in the same vein as stuff by people like Ghostpoet and James Blake - a style that has been rather hatefully labeled "glow-fi". Christ's sake. Described as a "Kaonashi mask wearing dub warrior", the king of bang SBTRKT is back with a stunning new single on Young Turks . The new single is the first sound to be heard from his new self-titled LP out this summer. Yukimi Nagano of Little Dragon offers up some perfectly pitched vocals that stab and screech like a war cry from hell. It's quite a departure from the soulful elegance of Jessie Wares vocals on previous SBTRKT productions but it's right stomping. Promisingly, the London-based producer explains that the [...]

Having signed a deal with Universal in August, preorders are beginning to crop up on 4AD for the new Joker release. The release, entitled 'The Vision' will feature a vocal version of the track with Jessie Ware, as well as an instrumental version on the B-side. There's not much more information about the release than that, but if you keep your eyes peeled we'll bring you a lot more about it nearer the time. What I can tell you, however, is that he has been working on his debut full length LP for sometime [...]

Just a few days ahead of the album's release on May 10, those kind folks at Warp are offering you the chance to preview their storming debut in its entirety. The collaborative effort of producer Mark Pritchard and vocalist Steve Spacek , Africa Hitech have produced a storming LP of futuristic bass, digital dancehall and incorragebly danceable techno. If you're heading to the Bang Face Weekender this month then be sure to check out their set, it promises to be gripping. Oh, and if you like your music free and full [...]

If you heard the first part of the 2 Bit Thugs mixtape 'Half Hour Hype' you'll be excited, albeit surprised, to hear that the second half features a huge amount of new 2 Bit Thugs productions as well as their reworking of Jack Beats' U.F.O. track from 2009 and Redlight's 'What You Talking About!' featuring Ms. Dynamite. Here's what they had to say about it: 2011 will see 2 Bit Thugs launch their own label Corrupt Music, and to celebrate, they have put together the second part of their Half Hour Hype [...]

It's always an exciting time when Thrills & Tony Rocky Horror collaborate on something. If you're even remotely aware of the Sub Philo crew then you'll know this is something worth having. If you're not aware of the Sub Philo crew and you've still not heard Tony Rocky Horror's mixtape he did for our podcast, then where the fuck have you been? The package also features remixes from Gavin Boyce, Sickboy, The Exo, M6 and The Noize Off to round off what promises to be a fast-paced, noisy [...]

South African beatmaker Spoek Mathambo has teamed up with one half of indie dance duo The Glass, DJ Wool produce a new EP 'Kult Leader' on Discobelle Records . The new release is breaks heavy with a fidgety sort of bassline bouncing along through the track. Tipping its hat to Funky and Hip-Hop, the EP features the trademark Spoek vocals covering everything from sex to surreal images like buying guns on the internet. It's a fun, dancefloor-ready track with a hidden threat in there... red for danger! Download: [...]

First of all, thanks for agreeing to speak with us. No problem. How did you get started? What's your musical background? I used to be in bands as a bass player. My mum and dad were music heads in the 60s but not hippie dropout types. So I always grew up around nice, good music. Basically, I moved to London with a band when I was 18 and lived there for 8 years. That was one side of my musical upbringing. After that I was just a music fan really, [...]

Purple pioneer Gemmy has been working hard of late, laying the foundations for his brand spanking new imprint 'W.O.W.' or World of Wonders. The first offering, a two-track single of his own making, is to be released at the end of this month. Known for his unique brand of Dubstep and Funky created alongside Joker et al, it was only a matter of time before Gemmy branched out and became his own man. Stream the new single below, it's the absolute bobbins.
