[NEW EP] Beacon - No Body Every week I get a beautiful email from Ghostly’s  listening service Drip.fm . It’s currently in beta, but I would highly suggest requesting an invite. About a month ago they sent me over this gorgeous EP and I’m sad to say I haven’t had the chance to write about it even though I’ve been listening non-stop. Wilhelm and the Dancing Animals: The Forests Have No Name  For the last few years indie pop/rock has been dominated by keyboards, synth and a bunch of innovative recording techniques. However, Spain’s Wilhelm and the Dancing Animals have decided start fresh, back to basics infused with acoustic spanish style guitar riffs and simple upbeat percussion. Can you say refreshing? [NEW TRACK] Illuminator & Conveyor - Mukraker  Last week I was lucky enough to see these two bands come together to perform their newly collaborated single “Muckraker” during their show at Glasslands Gallery. Both are great live and together they are dynamite. Just listen to that horn arrangement! Make sure to check on Conveyor’s EP Sun Ray   which was one of my favorites of 2011. 

We’ll be there and you should too! smallplates : Just a wee reminder of what you NYCers should be attending tonight. Infinity Hotel ,  Gracie ,  Emperor X , and  Field Mouse  are all gonna tear the ceiling down from the  Cake Shop .  Victorians be warned.  Now, I heard that Tom Cruise is making an appearance in Brooklyn or something, but seriously, that dude is old.
