Tonight, the guys' performances were way better than last week's. A lot of them were actually impressive. But the most impressive one has to be given to Chris Daughtry . Credits to rocker dad! I started to get annoyed by whiny Kevin Covais . Such a geek, he's nowhere near as a sex symbol. Taylor Hicks and Elliott Yamin continued to rule. Stevie Wonder should be happy because three guys chose his songs to sing. Chances are that Sway and Bucky will be going home tomorrow night. [...]
There was a big problem throughout tonight's girl performances. That was song choice. All of them either chose a boring song which can't help them show off their vocal range or chose a song too big to handle. However, brown sugar continued to be the flavor of the night. Lisa Tucker, Paris Bennett both went old school and they pulled it off quite well. Mandisa was on fire! Kellie once again proved that although she may not be the best female vocalist, she still reigns as the most likeable one. Brenna didn't live up [...]
Lyrics Of The Week Lately I’ve been listening to this song quite a lot. It’s just the lyrics I felt so related to. Simple, sincere but truly heartfelt and deeply bittersweet. Strange And Beautiful (I’ll Put A Spell On You) Aqualung I've been watching your [...]
So tonight, we've got the results of the 4 with the least votes heading home. Becky O' Monahue, Bobby Bennett, Stevie Scott & Patrick Hall . The end of the journey for Becky and Bobby wasn't surprising, I already predicted it right in the previous blog entry. However, I do feel a little sorry for Stevie and Patrick. There were those that were worse than them, they just had problems with song selections and both deserve another chance. Two more weeks to go, and we'll come to the top 12. So keep watching, supporting the one you root for [...]
First, let's start with the ladies' night. It was off the hook. Like I said before, the female contestants this year are real strong, and they just awed me with their performances and their exceptionally good looks. Lisa Tucker was the gem of the night, she definitely brought the house down with such a soulful performance. Paris Bennett and Mandisa also moved their way into the audience's hearts, they were so on fire. Kellie Pickler, however, didn't do great as I had expected, but was still likable and heartfelt enough to come back next [...]
Today, the contestants had to face the judges, and it's either being in the top 24 or heading straight back home. Some came out of the elevator speechless, crying, some threw their hands up in the air laughing with glee. There's not much to talk about, anyway, but I'm glad the Brittentum brothers dropped out, they are probably watching TV in jail now, and the ones I like all got through, next week it'll be their moments to shine and persuade the public to vote for them. These are the ones I'll be rooting for: [...]
In tonight's episode, the contestant had to work in a group of three or four, so this time it was all about teamwork. The drama continued, it wasn't easy reaching an agreement on choreography, singing parts and all with strangers, so that was hard for them, but somehow this is so deja vu to me, so watching this happen again kinda bored me. Garet the cowboy's finally sent home, he's so annoying, and the Britentum Brothers made it to the next round, both of them. I just can't stand them and their 'hissy attitude'. Yes, they can sing, [...]
Valentine’s Day’s today! I know you lovebirds are going crazy, so I’m gonna give a little something to spread even more love in the air. The Special Valentine’s Day Edition of Picks of The Week. Well, I made a mix of my favorite love songs with various tastes, from old school to new school, r&b to rock, mainstream to indie, teenyboppers to rappers, each of all good stuff. So my advice is if you’re so in love, download and listen to the Love Me Version, if you’re heartbroken, then switch right on to the Love Me Not Version. May your [...]
Lyrics Of The Week Just listened back to this old song, so I decided to post the lyrics here for you guys to read, it’s kinda deep. Still I wonder why Lauryn never made a second solo album after the huge success of the debut. Looking forward to The Fugees reunion album. Everything Is Everything Lauryn Hill Everything is everything What is meant to [...]
On Thursday night (according to my time zone), like everybody, I tuned in to watch the Grammy 2006 night, expecting one hell of show. I wasn’t let down, though three hours seemed a little tiresome at times. Most of the performances were incredibly great, but the most impressive, breathtaking ones were from Kelly Clarkson, Coldplay, Kanye West and Jamie Foxx, John Legend , and the new rendition of Yesterday from Linkin Park, Jay Z and suprisingly, Paul McCartney . The tributes to Sly & The Family Stone and New [...]
The final auditions were held in Boston, and it seemed like talents had already ran out. There were three outstanding girls, though, not that much but enough to outshine the other suckers. Rebecca O’ Monahue has an okay voice, but man is she hot. Ayla Brown is a good-looking athletic chick with a decent voice. Titiana Ward was also a good one. At the end, we’ve got 175 hopefuls flew their way to Hollywood to get their shots and that's what was revealed in episode 8. At this round, each contestant [...]
When I first read this news on a website, my jaw almost dropped. I just can't believe it. Lance Armstrong & Sheryl Crow split up? They seemed so perfect together. They were already engaged, and they made us believe they would walk down the aisle and live happily for years to come. I haven't got this reaction since Brad & Jen breakup. Sheryl Crow is one of my favorite artists, she's so talented that she has no signs of going downhill, and her new album is real great. And Lance, the ultimate Tour De France champion, is the starter of [...]
You've been waiting for this, haven't you? Yes, you have. It's been ten weeks since I put out this weekly feature, and still more good choices to come directly at you. These are the must-hear, must-see, must-take of the week. Lyrics Of The Week This song's lyrics kinda captured and reflected my feelings once. Heartfelt words you can relate to. Sitting, Waiting, Wishing [...]
Austin's probably got one of the worst auditions ever since season 5 started. The first half of the episode really turned into a horrific, though quite entertaining, staged freak show. The losers were just so pathetic. I know people enjoy seeing them try so hard to ridicule themselves on national tv, but why can't they spare more air time to show the actually good ones that passed through this round, the ones we only see running out of the door, screaming with yellow paper on their hands? Okay, next week, we're gonna see them trying their hardest to [...]
The Las Vegas auditions were lousy. Why can't they air more of the ones that got the tickets to Hollywood, instead of a whole bunch of outrageous, shameless ones? However, I admit the stupid ones were quite fun to watch. Except the CSI spoof which was a bit too harsh on humiliating those losers. Very few auditioners shone through this time: Mecca Madison : This girl's the deal of this episode. She's the 19-year-old belly dancer with one hell of a voice. So remember this name. Heather [...]
Lyrics Of The Week Do You Realize? The Flaming Lips Simple but deep and sincere, the lyrics of this song pointed out the obvious facts, then reminded you to make the most of your lives while letting you dive deep into the smooth, dreamy melodies. Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face Do you realize we're floating [...]

I gotta say: San Francisco was weird . Too weird . The auditions were bizarre, some of the auditioners possess a voice like they were possessed, I just never heard anything like that before. Simon seemed like he was so driven crazy by the bad that he decided to join the competition for the weirdos. One minute, he was doing a very nice thing by calling Shalicia’s boss to help her get her job back. The next minute, he all misjudged the actually good ones. Although this episode felt so awkward, a few managed to get their moments [...]
The auditions this time were held in North Carolina, and a whole of of new auditioners were added to my list for the title of American Idol season 5. These are the ones that I think did real good in their auditions: Kellie Pickler : This girl reminds me so much of Kelly Clarkson. She resembles Kelly in so many ways: broken family (mom left, dad in prison), job (a waitress), personality (she’s so down-to-earth and nice, and her crying’s cute), name (just different spelling) and most of all, [...]
Lyrics Of The Week Bliss Muse The lyrics are taken straight from my heart, it tells exactly how I feel lately. Yes, give me all that bliss and joy in your mind. Everything about you is how I wanna be Your freedom comes naturally Everything about you resonates happiness [...]
