After January's break-out song 'Darkness', Du Tonc are back with another slice of thoughtful summer disco, the newly formed duo comprising of Mighty Mouse and Matt Van Schie have once again nailed the hazy pop aesthetic channelling everything from Air to Royksopp into their second single 'Surging Memories'. www.dutonc.com www.facebook.com/dutonc www.twitter.com/dutoncmusic www.youtube.com/dutoncmusic
Yuksek's newly christened label Partyfine celebrates its first release this week and it's a double collaboration with Danish songstress Oh Land and up-and-coming French trio Juveniles. The song with 'Oh Land' is a basically the perfect pop song; energetic vocals, lush percussion and just enough electronic influences to make sure you know it's still Yuksek. The b-side is a calmer affair and sees Yuksek team-up with his current protege's Juveniles for a slow-mo piece of indie pop that shows it's not always big chorus' and over-the-top production that are Yuksek's calling card. Check out [...]
Husband and wife duo Mixhell, who consist of Iggor Cavalera - the former drummer of heavy metal band, Sepultura – and his wife Laima Leyton, are about to released their debut album 'Spaces'. The duo have now taken on a third member member Max Blum, which now sees the duo move forward as a full band for their new album, 'Spaces'. Check out their new single 'The Way' which sees the trio showcases as slightly more organic side to their usual rock-fuelled productions. Laima Leyton is on hand to provide vocals over spellbinding italo synth lines, for [...]
As far as odd combinations go, this one is straight out of EDM's leftfield; a tag-team combination of Steve Angello and Jacques Lu Cont remixing Depeche Mode's new single 'Soothe My Soul'. It's a peak-time, fist-pumping, piece of stadium electro-house where drop isn't so much as it drop but a cliff, and once you do hit the main drive it goes from solid guff to spectacular fireworks.
For Justice to try and top their last live album, the Grammy award-winning 'Across The Universe', it was always going to be a tall order. For one: their new live album 'Access All Arenas' doesn't have an eye-opening Romain Gavras documentary to seduce you into the world of a touring electronic act. And secondly: 'Access All Arenas' is very much still anchored by material from their first album, 'Cross'. But don't dismiss it too quickly as this is far from a simple re-hash. If their last album didn't quite kick like you wanted it to, or you didn't [...]

On their 10th anniversary last year the Kitsuné opened a new US Boutique and to celebrate they released the Kitsuné America compilation. By doing this they successfully proved that Europe does not hold the exclusive on quality electronic dance music. Now almost a year later they are releasing Part 2 to promote all the interesting artists they have encountered over that period. As with all label compilations this is a mixed bag (of the unknown and the familiar) but part of the fun in listening to a new Kitsune compilation is trying to guess who is going to be the next [...]
The scourge of edits of Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' is beginning to reach fever-pitch but thankfully Drop Out Orchestra, who actually have some appreciable talent, have made a tasteful re-edit. They've tweaked the original by adding a new bassline, a new strings section and generally given the track's composition a little bit more dynamism. Oh and they've reduced Pharrell's part to the bare minimum. The only other remix we've heard that is of any merit is LifeLike's which was roadtested by A-Trak last weekend and should be with us in the coming weeks. There's no word [...]
With disco domination set firmly in the sights of MofoHifi’s sister label Heavy Disco, their most recent release Heavy Disco Vol.2 is here to stamp its authority on the genre once again. If you’d already picked up Vol.1 you’ll have enjoyed a good selection of energetic, French style, chopped up dance floor bangers. With their latest release Heavy Disco have decided to kick back, set the mirror ball to slow and take a more downtempo approach. Creating a compilation filled with toe-tapping beats, fresh guitar licks and uplifting hand claps to fit perfectly into an early morning set. [...]
Cosmic disco man Neptune Safari is back with another swashbuckling original in the form of new track 'Nebula' - basically everything NS touches at the moment turns to magic space dust. Cue bassline, handclaps and a guiatar solo. www.facebook.com/neptunesafari twitter.com/neptunesafari

The first single to be take from the Pet Shop Boys new album, 'Electric', was unveiled this morning and at the helm of production duties is super producer Stuart Price. 'Axis' sees the synth pop legends, alongside Mr Price, recapture duos club roots with a modern take on the duos infamous swirling synth-pop sound. Basically it doesn't get much better than this. " Electric is very much set on the dancefloor," said Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. "Our latest album often evolves as a response to our previous album and, whereas Elysium had a [...]
Whilst Vitalic's latest long-play didn't quite have the impact we were looking for, you can't say that of the videos that have come from the album thus far. The latest, which is for Vitalic's latest remixes single 'Fade Away', is almost certainly the best yet. It features a scene that could easily be from a long-lost Tarrantino film, as 11 assassins start getting killed over the contents of a mysterious briefcase. And just like the film it references, Pulp Fiction, you never get to see what's in the briefcase. Vitalic [...]
Rex The Dog's latest EP has been more than worth the wait but it's actually the b-side 'Bonnn' that caught our attention the most. It's classic Rex at his best: no vocals, no pop sensibility - just Rex and his usual palette of grinding synths, hypnotic basslines and just enough acid to make the song PH neutral. Out digitally May 6, via Southern Fried Records. https://twitter.com/rexthedog1 980 https://www.facebook.com/RexTh eDog
When we say the words hip hop and house music - you'll probably automatically think of two people: Will.I.Am. and Calvin Harris. But there is another way: Belgium producer A.N.D.Y. He's trying to reconcile two diametrically opposed styles into a new house off-shoot without it sounding like something you find on the cutting room floor of Interscope Records. His latest EP, which is out now via Smile Recordings, features one new original track with vocals from rising star Dominique Young Unique, the single is broken into 4 versions of the same track, each with its own style [...]
French production outfit Les Petits Pilous have released several singles over the years through esteemed labels such as Boys Noize Records and Bad Life. Last week the duo announced that they will be releasing a new single, which is scheduled for release at the end of May via Bad Life, but before that the duo are unveiling a brand new track today which you can exclusively listen to below. The song, 'Francis Hustler, is their usual blend of face-pummeling electro and French touch that shows that the duo are still suffering an identity crisis between the [...]
'Spread Love' is the first piece of original material from Paul Sidoli - who many of you will already know from his execellent work as one-half of established outfit the Cosmonauts. The single will be released on Sidoli's own imprint Super Trooper and sees the London producer move away from his usual italo disco roots to explore some deeper flavours of house and disco. The song is flanked by remixes from suave Italian disco merchants the Rambla Boys, who manage to find another level of deepness to explore, whilst DFA-newcomer Holmes Price adds his own piano-laden [...]

Jerry Bouthier and Andrea Gorgerino's Continental Records is on its 8th release and at the helm of the latest release is Parisian funk glam-rockers Fancy. The Parisian band - comprising of Jessie Chaton (vox & keyboards), Mom (guitar), Rae Mone (bass) and their drummer Antoine - already have an album to their name and several singles under their belts (including 'All Night Long' which came out on Vitalic's label). The band have always had a killer ear for sing-along choruses and flamboyant riffs, and their latest opus '692 is no different. It's an androgynous pop song [...]
Having just signed to Eskimo records ex-Mustanger Renaud Deru, aka ATTAR!, is a flying high at the moment. Today he's giving away his latest remix for the Propellers' new single 'Midnight Kiss' for free. Deru has taken a pinch of the early 20002s electro clash with his choice of bassline, in fact we'd go as far as saying it's strikingly similar to the Egg's 'Walking Away', if a little less flamboyant - he then mixes the vocal line with his usual blend of swirling cosmic disco to create an indie dance remix that'll satisfy fans of both the [...]
The latest release from Stuart Price under his new Tracques pseudonym features an octuplet of well-put-together techno offerings with splatters of electro mayhem. So does the Readingite with more producer credits than Steven Spielberg hit the mark? Opener, ‘Click Track’ is a stomping feast of percussive delight, with skilfully blended reverbs and delays that keeps you wanting more. And Lu Cont delivers more with yet another expertly sculpted work ‘Lunartick’, combining deep bass and controlled reverb tails with an evolving distortion that you can almost reach out and touch. Next up, and probably the weakest track [...]
