To be honest with you. This list is very very long. Do I have time to listen to every single one of them? No! Did I omit some stuff that I just KNOW is going to suck? YES! Are there other ones in there that suck that I missed? Again YES! Do Battles, White Denim and What Laura Says all have new releases today? Also YES! Acephalix: Interminable Night Against Me!: Total Clarity Aidan Moffat & [...]
Today is a pretty great day. Not only is Talk , the new What Laura Says EP out today. But we are lucky enough to be world premiering their new video for "Oh, My Neighbor"! So if you fancy yourself a lover of awesome things, you have something awesome to add to your collection.
Going to be pretty good. Our good friends St. Ranger are playing with White Denim. Not familiar with The Embry Record so let's hope they make a good first impression ;-)

So I just listened to Cults in it's entirety and as I expected they are not going to be a four hit wonder. They are at the very least going to be an eleven hit wonder. If you have ears and the good sense to be reading this post then head on over to NPR asap and hear for yourself .
I didn't find this video all that funny. Not sure about the title... Oh does it mean the other kind of hysterical? Oh an also it's just a promo video. So sorry about that. Clap Your Hands Say Yea are releasing Hysterical on Sept 20th... so it's a good thing I am posting this now. I feel like a fool!
I am a sucker for a creepy video. Especially ones in slow motion and certainly ones in black and white. This is almost tailor made just for me so thanks for that Gardens & Villa ! I wonder if it sounds good though? My head is encapsulated in a block of concrete with just a hole drilled so I can see out of one eye. SOOO I guess it might not even be in black in white. I just remembered I am color blind in that eye.

Not sure what the hell is going on these days but I feel like I am in a prison of my own mind. Just kidding! I am a prisoner of life and it's incessant soul sucking neediness. Hence the low amount of posting etc... But here is the new crop of music to be harvested into your ear holes! Enjoy! Agoria: Fabric 57 Alexander Turnquist: Hallway of Mirrors Amor de Dias: Street of the Love [...]

Oh, happy days are here again. Finally after a few teasers we've got our first listen to Bon Iver's forthcoming self-titled album Bon Iver, Bon Iver . I'll be totally honest with you all, when I first heard Justin Vernon's falsetto kick in on this track a huge smile came across my face. There is a lot more activity on this track than just about anything else that was on For Emma, Forever Ago but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm actually really liking this track, a lot. [...]
I sent out a tweet the other day about Death Grips when Blogger was down. But I can't stop listening to it. So I felt it appropriate to do a full on post with a video and mp3'z etc... I am sure that someone that knows more than me about this type of thing would say I am wrong. But Death Grips feels totally original. I can't think of anything that sounds like this. Maybe James Blake doing the music for the ghost of Ol' Dirty Bastard? Maybe not, not sure. But I am sure that you should download [...]
OMG, we are finally back up. If you have been following us on Twitter and or Facebook, thanks! I hope this video works for you all, since it's from 4AD's amazing series of sessions that are houses in 4AD's POS video hosing page that is very difficult to make work correctly. But if it DOES work for you, it's mos def worth a viewing. Gang Gang Dance are scary good these days.
Cults are a band, a band I can get behind, or in front of, and listen to for hours at a time. Since they only have a handfull of songs that is saying something. Can't freaking wait for their new album on June 7th... and I live in Phoenix so that again is saying something.
If you didn't think this was going to be weird you don't know Dan Deacon. I on the other hand DO know Dan Deacon* and he is pretty weird. This is what happens when people have a lot of free time and allegedly a lot of drugs, probably... allegedly. And don't forget to keep your KNIFE SHARP! * Awkward interview at The Clubhouse once.

If I was in charge of picking the theme song for the next Bond Movie, and believe me, I will be one day, Black Carl would be at the top of my list... followed by Portishead (why has Portishead never done a Bond theme song?). This new song is the first song on the first release in their 4 part Record Club project. It's a pretty sweet idea, realizing what amounts to a full album's worth of songs on 4 separate colored vinyls over a 4 month period. Check out the details HERE and you should [...]
STRFKR are a pretty great band and a bunch of cool guys to boot. I sat near them a couple years ago on the patio of The Rhythm Room while they hung out with cooler people than me. But they sounded really cordial. I also interviewed them via email once, that was pretty funny, you can read that HERE
I can't guarantee this level of wildness, the Clubhouse doesn't have a nice river filled with boats behind it or anything. But I wouldn't be surprised if things were almost as wild and crazy. This IS the day that their new album Life Fantastic was released and the Clubhouse is ass hot, and the heat can make people do crazy things. Just ask the guy I beat up last summer at QT for asking me what time it was. In my defense I obviously wasn't wearing a watch.

So since I was gone last week I totally missed out on telling you about Fleet Foxes Helplessness Blues , there was probably some other good stuff but I don't have the time to go back in time and figure that out. So let's move on with our lives ok? The albums I am most excited about are Tyler, The Creator's Goblin , The Antlers' Burst Apart & Man Man's Life Fantastic . There are obviously a ton of other albums coming out that I am sure people will [...]

If you have some extra time to spend today you should spend it listening to The Book Of Mormon . The full cast recording of all the songs from the Broadway Musical from Trey Parker & Matt Stone. If you like things that are awesome you will enjoy it. The full thing is streaming on NPR right now HERE
This is hot off the presses. So new I have not even watched it yet. But I bet it's going to be a good ass video. It was directed by Shepard Fairey and Nicholas Harmer and they are cool and edgy etc...
So I am back from my massive 2500 mile long road trip through the great state of California. What better way to celebrate my triumphant return than the best video/song combos of the year so far. The song is Ice Cream, an already great song that greatly enhanced by this video, thanks Battles, your the best.
This makes me wish I was going to Ireland rather than California... Really bad ass.
