Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows/Minus 5) recently teamed up with fellow baseball fanatic Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate/Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3) to form The Baseball Project along with Peter Buck (Minus 5/R.E.M.) on bass and Linda Pitmon (Miracle 3) on drums. They've got a pretty great album called Volume One: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails coming out July 8th on the fabulous Yep Roc Records. 13 hits, every single one of 'em about baseball.
