Album Review: The Kills- Midnight Boom
The Kills are known for creating raucous blues-based garage rock. There's always losts of clattering, banging, and wailing going on during their high octane songs. The Anglo/American duo's latest album, Midnight Boom , takes a divergent path. The band turned the clang-rock quotient way down while torquing up the groove element. From the opening track "U.R.A. Fever" on, you know this is something a little different. Behind the newly prominent indie groove are songs that are more crisp and focussed than previous efforts.
