Review: Brass - Set & Drift
I don't know where Brass is from (and it really doesn't matter) but the 8 songs of angular post-punk on their self-released album Set & Drift sound almost timeless. It is full driving post- ATDI emo that also touches on the raw and Mission Of Burma-esqe indie rock sound (think DC) that is both discordant and melodic. Singer Joe Webber's distinctive voice also separates the group from any so-called peers. It is wide-ranging and forceful without being overly-screamy and totally reminds me of someone that I just can't seem to place right [...]
