Blog: The Needle Drop

The popularity of the Brooklyn-based band Grizzly Bear is growing at an exponential rate, and this is going to have a trickle-down effect on any other projects the band is involved with, of course. That seems to be the case for Department of Eagles: another musical outlet for singer/songwriter Daniel Rossen. The band is lead by Rossen and his college roommate, Fred Nicolaus. Rossen plays a pivotal role in both Grizzly Bear and Department of Eagles, so of course there are similarities between the two bands--especially since Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor produces and engineers the recordings [...]
