Premiere: Of Montreal: "Id Engager (Mad Decent Remix)" [MP3/Stream]

The most floor-friendly track on Montreal's upcoming Skeletal Lamping , " Id Engager ", gets a goosing here from Diplo's Mad Decent crew for an upcoming 12" of remixes. Clipping Kevin Barnes' yelps into percussive chunks and then slotting them into lock-step loops, the track begins stripped-down and tight. But then some squelchy synth chords enter, bits of guitar are balled up and tossed back and forth, and the cooing "ooo-ah-oo" vocals fall in to remind us of the approachable but [...]
