In late 1982, the group ABC, led by lead singer and former journalist Martin Fry, emerged out of Sheffield, England to become one of the brightest and most promising pop acts of the time. Their debut, The Lexicon Of Love , was a more user-friendly slice of Roxy Music-inspired songs and the album was a critical smash and spawned a number of hit singles in the UK.
