Last night's Polaris Prize ceremony in Toronto had a vastly better outcome than the Canadian Idol final, in that it selected a talented winner who won't likely embarrass the entire nation. Congratulations to Caribou, the one-man project of doctor of mathematics and electronic music artist Dan Snaith. Snaith mentioned that he would use the $CDN20,000 to purchase a trip into space, which I'm almost certain was code for "I'm going to spend this entire check on drugs." (I could be wrong.)
