As you may know, genteel nu-bluegrasser Alison Krauss has teamed up with golden god Robert Plant for what initially seems to be a puzzling pairing; their record Raising Sand is an amble through well-worn folk songs by the likes of the Everly Brothers, Tom Waits, and Townes Van Zandt.
