Blog: The SCOPE of the scene

Mixed reactions for the new Kings of Leon album. The more pop/radio-oriented listeners have seemed to welcome the album with open arms. The more rock/indie-oriented listeners seem to have some misgivings. Not sure if this song will do much to sate the latter group. It's got a little bit of that ol' Kings feel in the verse (probably because the guitar part is directly lifted from the verse of "Taper Jean Girl," just slowed down a bit), but the chorus (complete with falsetto harmonies) follows the more recent Kings trend of making all songs arena-ready.
