Somehow and at some point I came upon Land Of Talk's EP Applause Cheer Boo Hiss a ways back and cranked it louder than I should have. The soulful fury of lead singer Elizabeth Powell struck one of those so-called chords and I had to respond with extra volume. I'll admit I was a bit wary of the full length being able to match that rush of emotion I felt on the EP. Land Of Talk proved me wrong with Some Are Lakes .
