New (to me) music: Devon Sproule
By eh A tipster (it was my dad) dropped me a line about Ms. Devon Sproule, a Charlottesville guitarist, with a homespun-but-funky style. I like her. Her singing voice is clear and unadorned, and all she really needs for accompaniment is the stinging staccato of her guitar. She's already released four albums and been endorsed by everyone from Jools Holland (from whence the above clip, he's a big deal on the U.K. music scene) to Bob Edwards .
