It's fun to write Chuck-Norris style jokes about Johnny Whitney's stage persona - the man has a scream that's literally unbelievable. It first hit me during Jaguar Love 's long soundcheck, as Whitney let loose a few staccato howls. For a second, I thought someone had invented a terrible new form of guitar feedback, until I looked towards the stage and realized this otter-on-fire scream was actually the product of human vocal chords.
