
As I begin to compile my "Best Of 2008" lists, I find that Juana Molina's latest album, Un Día (her fifth), is one of this year's best albums. Her music is a wonderful blend of her roots (she's a native of Argentina) and indie folktronica, and it meshes together perfectly. The songwriting shows influence in classic Brazilian music, but she fills up the record with electronic soundscapes and hypnotic repetition.
