Blog: heartbreak tango

If Glass Candy were, dare we say, a house band in a vile Miami nightclub, it would sound like Fan Death 's "Veronica's Veil". Aside from the usual bleeps and twinks, there's a positively disco-certified stringline that spices up the happenings, and the urgently-breathed female vocal lead seems vaguely irritated that everyone is ready to go home. This genre of vocal styling is so compelling thanks to the blank delivery of the singers, and Fan Death recalls a fascinatingly vapid Mod pinup of sorts.
