k.d. lang I only was exposed to the genius that is k.d. lang last weekend, something that is embarassing to admit. I bought Hymns of the 49th Parallel on a lark, and was amazed at its elegant beauty. The album opens with an amazing rendition of "After The Gold Rush." k.d.'s toned voice-one of the best I've ever heard-just floats above the song, making Neil Young's lyrics all the more poignant and expressive.
