
The term "power pop" gets tossed around a lot when referring to A.C. Newman and his band mates, the New Pornographers, but to lump Newman's latest solo effort, "Get Guilty," into this same category would do a huge disservice to the well-crafted and at times intricate collection of songs. Which is not to say the disc isn't as accessible as the Pornographer's last album, 2007's "Challengers," rather that the arrangements are simply more lavish, and the inspirations more complex.
