What RAID systems are and how they operate
RAID Systems are collaborations of multiple hard drive disks into systems that allow fast access to data. The idea for them began almost twenty years ago when large organizations needed to stored more data and retrieve it faster. By taking data and dividing it up among many disks each could send a segment to the call at once and effectively speed the process of sending data as much as ten or twenty fold. Another benefit of these arrays was that data could be duplicated in an overlap design so as to protect information in the event of a system failure. [...]
