I was sent a promotional copy of Bishop Allen's latest LP Grrr... a week ago but just got around to listening to it last night and what an unexpected surprise it turned out to be. The album is very lighthearted and high spirited, a quality not too many would mind in today's climate. The Ancient Commonsense of Things is my favorite track for the moment, although thats bound to change as there are some close runner ups that I'll be posting soon. This song simple, feels good and the title makes my mind wonder off into space. [...]
