Beat City Radio March 18, 2008: New Release Tuesday - DeVotchKa, Sera Cahoone, Destroyer, Be Your Own Pet, and more DeVotchKa Another new release Tuesday is here, and a good day it is. Many good records are out, including one from the Denver, Colorado-based four-piece musical collective DeVotchKa . The group's name is an allusion to Anthony Burgess and the Russian-based word he coined for "young girl." Musically, it's a beautiful and sweeping combination of American folk and punk, mariachi, and Eastern European and Latin American sounds.
