I've always been a big fan of a really heartfelt, convincing, from-the-gut rock 'n' roll scream. Roger Daltrey, Frank Blank, Dave Grohl—good musicians all, but fantastic yellers. Now, there is only one female in the Screaming Females , and a young one at that, but she can scream with the best of them. Marissa Paternoster, a 22-year-old from New Brunswick, New Jersey, heads up the trio of aggressive, Pixies-inspired punk rockers with a superb amount of confidence.
