On my own perspective, I think that contemporary classical music is really misunderstood, because most people think that even though its contemporaneousness it is somehow outdated or boring, the truth is that there's a whole lot of musicians and artists contributing to reinvigorate classical music, in fact, most incidental movie soundtracks are composed of classical music because of its undeniable strenght to capture emotions, maybe it is too expensive to achieve a collaboration with some philharmonic ensemble and because of that there are less options.
