One of the emergent trends for contemporary music this year, - if we can get a glimpse while actually living inside it- is the apparent comeback of shoegazing aesthetic in indie music circles. Although it might simply be that I'm more conditioned or better equipped to identify it in different genres, since shoegaze is not limited to its alt.rock context these days, and it's blended with different elements. One such artist is Paneye from Sydney whose self released and freely downloadable Wilt and Loom has quite a bit of lo-fi pop, psychedelia and gloomy electronic soundscapes. [...]
