for some sordid reason, I believed that Obama had promised during his campaign trail that he would never wage war and promote a friendlier US. This news of a flood of soldier heading to Kabul to finish off the massacre that Bush has unfolded in front of all humanity comes as a sad surprise to me. Maybe I pictured Obama as a Gandi-esque figure with strong convictions. Or maybe, I am jumping the wagon about the intentions behind the new troop surge.
