Pink Mountaintops (Black Mountain's Stephen McBean) released third album, Outside Love , today on Jagjaguwar. Varied shades of grey mood and diverse subject thread Outside Love , helping to make it a compelling listen. The album opens with the big drums and expansive sound of "Axis: Thrones Of Love," giving off a vibe of Spiritualized injected with Galaxie 500. While that particular frame isn't seen again, good times are plentiful, and the hazy narcotic drip of "While We Were Dreaming," has a Heroin-ish aching charm.
