Blog: i guess i'm floating

Two years ago Montreal native Patrick Watson was nominated for the Polaris Prize, one of Canada's top music honors, along with some heavy hitters (Arcade Fire, Feist, Chad VanGaalen, Junior Boys) and picked up the award despite the odds. That was for his album Close To Paradise which was almost universally liked (despite a negative Pitchfork review that seemed to take offense to Patrick Watson's naming of his band after himself). Maybe the Pitchfork Music Festival should be called "The Indisputable Second Coming Of The Almighty Messiahs Of Independent Music Criticism...Festival." [...]
