Cat Power Sobers Up!
In Memphis, if a musician records here, we tend to usually embrace them as our own. Whether it's genuine southern hospitality, or a need to grasp at legitimacy, it's just the way it is. Take for instance Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power. Last year she returned to work with producer Doug Easley, she recorded in his Easley-McCain studio in the 90's, to produce her latest record The Greatest . This time she recorded at Ardent Studios, managed by Big Star drummer Jody Stephens, since last year Easley-Mccain was lost to an electrical fire. [...]
