I don't really believe there's a border-line to how obstensive and obscure a musical performance can be on a late night talk show, but watching Animal Collective 's performance of "Summertime Clothes" off of their Merriweather Post Pavillion LP on Letterman you can't help but get a sense that the majority of the audience is most likely lost.
