Respecting 'Red' Tyler When we were in New Orleans two weekends ago for my step-daughter's graduation from Loyola (we're proud - and relieved!), my wife and I got a chance to go out that Saturday night and catch a tribute to saxophonist Alvin 'Red' Tyler , a free event at the Contemporary Arts Center put on by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation .
