Blog: Buzz Bands

It was a night for big guitars Monday — and, as it happened, big turnouts. The Buzz Bands LA celebration at the Echoplex featured a foursome of bands whose fervent indie rock played well to a crowd that exceeded 400. The Broken Remotes kicked off the night with a set of buzzsaw, rhythm-heavy rockers. Amusement Parks on Fire [with Michael Feerick, above] followed with 35 minutes of gorgeous, gargantuan shoegaze before the Lassie Foundation [with Jeff Schroeder, top photo] took over and fashioned its own pop-leaning wall of sound.
