The Julian Plenti album isn't the expected step away from Paul Banks' day job in Interpol; instead, it mostly mirrors his work with his other band. This version of "Skyscraper" from the album alters that format somewhat, with Banks performing in a stripped down acoustic format and using some subtle strings as backing. The song was recorded live for NME radio, and demonstrates Banks' penchant for locking his Bowie-esque vocal onto melancholy folk tunes.
